Absolute Data Destruction: 100% Unrecoverable Certified Wipe

Index

Introduction

In the modern corporate landscape, enterprise data is the most valuable asset a company owns—and its greatest liability if mishandled. Adhering to the ISO 27001 standard requires more than just a locked server room; it demands a rigorous data wiping protocol to ensure no data leaks or data residue remain when hardware reaches its end-of-life.

To clear any doubt regarding the efficacy of our UReach Eraser, we subjected three SSDs to a grueling data recovery experiment. Beforehand, these SSDs were erased using professional data erasure equipment with NIST 800-88 Clear and Purge standards. To verify the results, we partnered with data recovery specialised team to confirm whether the original data is recoverable. The professional tools used are WinHex, R-Studio, and even the forensic-grade PC3000. To be clarified, the report was issued by professional technicians based on industry standards and professional inspection procedure thus the inspection data is authentic, objective and valid. Now, let us find out below to know if these the mentioned data recovery technology could salvage even a fragment of data.

Data Recovery Inspection Process and Result

1.Low-Level Sector Analysis (WinHex)

The first line of inspection involved a deep-dive into the raw binary code. Using WinHex, technicians performed sector-by-sector scans of the 3 SSDs image files. The findings confirmed the efficacy of the data wiping operation: every User Data Area was completely filled with 0x00 (hexadecimal zero).

No valid file headers, footers, or even orphaned data fragments remained. Furthermore, the Metadata area—which acts as the “map” for the drive—was also entirely cleared to zero. No recognizable file system structures, such as NTFS, FAT32, or exFAT, were detected.

2.File System Reconstruction & File Scanning (R-Studio)

Moving from raw data to logical structures, the team utilized R-Studio to attempt a reconstruction of the partition tables. Despite the software’s industry-leading ability to piece together “shredded” data, it found no recognizable partitions or file systems following the data wiping procedure.

Deep scanning, a process that can often find files even when the directory is gone, yielded nothing. There were no recoverable file fragments, no directory structures, and zero traces of file name information. The following image shows 0 or empty result after R-Studio deep scanning.

3.Physical-Level Deep Inspection (PC3000)

For the final and most intensive test, the SSDs were analyzed using PC3000, a tool capable of bypassing standard interfaces to communicate directly with the drive’s firmware. Firmware status checks confirmed that the devices were in perfect health and could be read normally, eliminate “hidden” data possibility caused by hardware faults.

Analysis of the bad block mapping tables (G-List/PLP) revealed no hidden data areas or unmapped valid blocks. Even the Over-provisioning (OP) areas—the “hidden” sectors SSDs use for background maintenance—were scanned and found to be entirely zero-filled. This confirms that the data wiping reached every corner of the physical storage. The image below tells us that PC3000 Physical-level Deep Inspection result is 0.

Final Verification of Data Recovery Inspection

Following this in-depth inspection by the professional team at specialised data recovery center with industry-leading tools, it is confirmed that:

  • Total Erasure: All user data, metadata, and reserved spaces were 0x00 filled, leaving no valid data residue.

  • Physical Destruction of Data: The data wiping operation completely destroyed the physical storage structure of the original data, exceeding the limits of current recovery technology.

  • Zero Risk: The original data is permanently unrecoverable, ensuring there is no risk of data leakage after the data wiping process.

Conclusion

This experiment serves as the strong testimonial that our data wiping product meets the stringent ISO 27001 standard. After the data wiping is complete, your hardware can be reused, resold, or disposed of easily with total peace of mind.

Our data wiping machine is a one-time-cost solution with no license fees. To satisfy an ISO 27001 audit, it generates a tamper-proof erasure certificate in PDF format. With support for various digital storage interface types and a range of form factors—from lightweight portable units to full-size complete machines—our operation is flexible enough for any enterprise.
